Stay Safe This New Year’s Eve – Wigan & Leigh District

As we welcome the New Year, let’s make sure the celebrations are memorable for the right reasons. Whether you’re heading to a house party or enjoying a night out at a licensed pub or club, please keep these safety tips in mind:

✅ Watch Your Limits
Pace yourself and know your alcohol tolerance. Overindulgence can lead to risky situations and poor decisions.

✅ Beware of Drink Spiking
Never leave your drink unattended and only accept drinks from trusted friends or bar staff. If you feel unwell or suspect spiking, seek help immediately.

✅ Plan Your Journey Home
Traffic will be busy, and roads may be hazardous. Use licensed taxis or public transport. Look out for Taxi Marshalls who are there to help you get home safely.

✅ Look Out for Each Other
If you or someone you know feels unsafe, head to a Safety Haven or speak to Street Marshalls. They’re on hand to assist and keep the night safe.

✅ One Punch Can Kill
Stay calm, walk away from conflict, and never resort to violence. A single punch can have devastating consequences.
